No details, but just got the message that Dean Dill was involved in a car crash and has broken pelvis and other injuries. His wife and son were in the car and had minor injuries.

We're all praying for his speedy recovery!

I too hope Dean recovers quickly. In a field of so many big egos, Dean is the exact opposite. Truly one of the nicest human beings I've ever met. Always ready to help and unlike a lot of dealers, making a buck is not the first thing on his mind.

I hope Dean is OK ...

Myself and my family were in a crash on Sat. 11/26 on a two lane road in CO when a car in the other lane slid on ice and entered our lane ... we hit head-on and my minivan left the highway and went down a shallow ravine .. luckily my wife and daughters (and our two cats, two frogs and Gary the snail) escaped serious injury ... the van was not so lucky ...

Dean is one of the nicest guys in the biz and my thoughs and prayers are with him ...

If anyone gets the address for the hospital, let us know. I would like to send him a get well card.

Dean is a great guy and I am sorry to hear of his accident. I met him in the USA earlier this year and I can see why so many magicians are concerned about his wellbeing.

I also wish Dean a speedy recovery. I've been lucky enough to meet dean on a few occasions when in the USA and he is one of the nicest and most giving people I know.

I would also like to know the address of the hospital.

Dean may be heading to L.A. as we speak... Jamie Schoolcraft has driven his motor home up to get his belongings, etc. and bring him home as soon as he is released. Car was totalled and friends say it's amazing he and his family are still alive.

Dean "Might" be released from hosptial this afternoon. Jamie Schoolcraft is standing by with his motorhome to drive Dean and family home. Wife and son stayed at Ronald MacDonald House near hospital and will come home later today with Jamie (and hopefully Dean). If Dean is not released his father will bring him home.

No calls... he needs the rest.

It's very rare that you come across a person who is admired and respected by virtually everyone who knows him. Dean Dill is such a person.

Jamie Schoolcraft is taking Denise, Jamie and Cooper the dog home today. Dean is being moved to another hospital and his Dad is coming up to Vegas to take him home in several days. (?) If he can remain on his back for sometime he won't have to be operated on.

Note: I just heard a little more about the accident. Apparently there was an accident with a vehicle on its roof and Dean was STOPPING TO HELP... when his SUV was T-boned by a pickup truck. From the looks of Dean's vehicle the word is they are lucky to be alive.

Dean is still in Las Vegas, his wife and son are home.

My dear friend Dean Dill and his family were in a very bad car accident (almost killed). Dean is in a hospital in Las Vegas (they were on their way back to LA from Vegas). Dean's vehicle was T-boned by a Dodge Truck as Dean was trying to help another vehicle that had flipped and landed on its roof. Dean has some broken ribs, broken pelvis, and lacerations to his face. Denise (his wife) has a broken cheek bone and black and blue eyes. Jamie broke his nose and lost several teeth. Denise and Jamie have been released, but Dean has not. They are trying to stablize him so they can transport him to a hospital close to home.

That said, it will be some time before Dean will be back on his feet and working. In the meantime, the Dill family are subject to an enormous amount of financial hardship.
Given the pain and stress they are already enduring, I come to you, our Café family to ask for your help.

I realize that everyone is having their own set of financial matters to deal with, especially with the holidays and all.
That aside, I feel we still need to reach out and help not only someone I consider a close friend and a brother, but a fellow magician and entertainer who has given us all so very much. If you cannot give, perhaps a card or letter to let Dean and his family know you are thinking of them?

I was just reading article on the Vernon Foundation fundraiser at the Castle. Isn't this a perfect situation for that? A magician, in dire need, for medical reasons?

I think Vernon would be very pleased that his fund was helping Dean.

The Vernon fund Board is working on it already.

I spoke to Dean and his spirits are up and thanks all those offering prayers and help. It will just take time and he'll be his old self again.
