So... I got this just the other day and I thought that I would give my impressions of this, The newest effect from David Stone and Ellusionist.

I was, Quite frankly, Taken off guard by the gimmick used in this effect. Its a simple gimmick that, (get this) I've been making MYSELF for quite a while now. I didn't expect this. The gimmicks that I make are the exact same except for one element. But as soon as I saw the gimmick I just bust out laughing... Then I knocked up two more gimmicks to suit what I wanted. One Back to Queen and one Joker to King.

I am a little disappointed in what was said about this gimmick in one of the ads I saw. It was touted as a precise, delicate, hard to make gimmick that would take hours and big bucks to produce. Hardly the case I'm afraid. This gimmick probably cost upwards of $3.50 in materials plus 1 1/2 hours of someones time. And there is one aspect of the gimmick that I find fairly cheap. But it is never seen by your audience.

As far as the DVD goes. Its about 15 mins. long and goes over everything that you see on the demo. Including David's top change that he uses in the demo, How to place the gimmicks and do the change, and the first phase in which the card goes through the window and turns face up. All of the routines are solid and lets face it, Just plain fun. There is no speech in this DVD during the explanations. And the language in the interviews are in French with subtitles. This however is not a problem. Everything is very clear.

All of this being said, Do I think its worth $70.00? Well... that depends how you look at it I suppose. Even though I can make the gimmicks and have for some time now, I probably would have never thought of using it in this way. So in that regard. Yes, Its worth it to me.

And now that I've been turned on to it I can make my gimmick any way I want. A definite plus.

I'd give this and overall 8/10. Its a great idea and fun to do. People flip out. It is a little pricey though. And I wouldn't really call it a "Card through window". More like a "Card CHANGE through window".
