Hurt McDermott (c.1963-2013) was the pseudonym of the award-winning writer and director, James K. McDermott.

Biography

McDermott graduated from Yale in 1985 with a B.A. in Middle English and moved to Chicago in 1986 to pursue his career as film-director and playwright.

He wrote under the name "Hurt McDermott" for his book "Artifice, Ruse, and Erdnase," the story of the search for the true identity of S.W. Erdnase.

McDermott died on January 1, 2013 after battling against malignant melanoma.[1]
