Magic and Its Mysteries contains in 8 chapters including such items as "Conjuring Wands", "The Magic Marble Pedestao", "Forcing Packs of Cards", and "The Great Cannonball Effect".

No elaborate stage illusions or sleight-of-hand were described.

This book was reprinted as "Heller's Handbook of Magic" in 1898 and the first 100 pages of Theobald's book reappeared as "Heller's Book of Magic".[1]
