Steve Miaco (1912-1949), born Stephen Alfred Frisbie, started performing as a child and later become known for his manipulation act at top nightclubs in the United States including the Rainbow Room in New York City.
He had been handicapped from birth by deafness and an inability to speak properly. According to rumors, he had sat through Cardini's act, day after day, studying and learning his every move.
His wife, Jerri, also performed magic as Miss Diana Dawn and Miss Jerri Dawn was close friend of Dell O'Dell.
Miaco died from injuries sustained from a fractured skill when falling to the pavement following a mixed up in a street fight with a German sailor. The sailor did not realize that he could not talk and mistook his manner.
