'''New York State and Canada Conclave of Magicians''' (NYCAN) began as a gathering of magicians in Syracuse in 1932. An annual event held in cities around New York State, it later included magicians from Canada and included it in their name starting in 1955.

Sponsored by the [[SAM]] Syracuse Assembly No. 14, with sponsorship from the Parent Assembly in New York City, the first conclave's commitee included [[E. R. Hall]], [[Charles H. Larson]], Herman L. The second conclave was held in Rochester and the following was in Albany.

The 2000 NYCAN was held in Buffalo, making it one of the longest running conventions in North America.<ref>MUM April 2000</ref>
