A.L. (Doc) Salvail (1868-1937) was a professional magician, specializing in cards, for over fifty years.
Biography
At 14 years of age he won first prize at the Boylston Museum in Boston in an amateur contest with his card manipulation.[1]
Beginning in 1882, Salvail had been with leading circuses and played all the various vaudeville circuits.
In 1911 he married Madame Muriel, an accomplished mind reader, and they joined the Bert W. A. Johnston's Magic and Fun Show in Western Canada for a time.
At the time of his death, he was one of the oldest active card wizards in the United States and performing with the Wallace Brothers Circus.[2][3]
