Ernie Kovacs (1919 - 1962) was an American comedian whose uninhibited, often ad-libbed, and visually experimental comic style came to influence numerous television comedy programs for years after his death in an automobile accident.

Like many comedians of the era, Kovacs created a rotation of recurring roles including an inept magician character Matzoh Heppelwhite.

Kovacs hosted and performed magic on the Festival of Magic TV special in 1957.
