Little Johnny Jones (b.1898-d.1995), a name given to him by his father, performed as the "Fashionable Magician" and "The Jolly Magician."
Biography
After spending World War I in the navy, Jones spent years in the photography business before first trying his hand at professional magic when the Depression hit.
While he is best known as a nightclub performer, he did actually work a full-evening show. He made his debut at The Chicago Woman's Club Theatre on November 27, 1932.
When the World War II broke out, Jones took his act on the road, touring almost three years for the USO.
He retired to Bangor, Michigan after giving his final performance at the 1964 Abbott's Get-together. [1]
He was a member of the Chicago Assembly of The Society of American Magicians and Assembly No.103 in Kalamazoo Michigan bears his name.
Jones was honored at the 1982 Magic Collectors' Weekend. [2]
He died of a stroke at the age of 96[3]
