Michael O'Dowd (b.1923-d.1997) was a ventriloquist, magician, and writer.

Biography

A member of IBM (#24668,Order of Merlin) he was a lifetime member Ring 17 in Toronto, Ontario.

His childhood interest in magic let to straitjacket escapes, and mind reading. In 1973 as a Marine Surveyor with Canadian Coast Guard, he met and became friends with Stewart James. O'Dowd would later initiate the first Stewart James Weekend. he was a regular at the FFFF convention.

After retirement from the Coast Guard, eh did magic shows in the Toronto area and taught magic.[1]
