'The Fellowship of the Flying Sorcerers was a small collection of conjurers from the United Kingdom organized by the editor of Abra, Goodliffe around 1950. As he traveled to more than a dozen different countries to report magical conventions overseas, he took with him this these hand-picked magicians to baffle them. [1]
The first "Flying Sorcerers" party to visit the United States was in 1950 at the the combined I.B.M. and S.A.M. Convention in Chicago.
Original members included Francis Haxton, Tom Harris, Geoffrey Buckingham, Paula Baird, Francis White, Max Andrews and John Ramsay.
The first Flying Sorcerers' Congress was held at St. Brelade's Bay, Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands in 1968.
