Gustave Fasola ( 1870 - January 14, 1929), a British magician, was born Fergus Greenwood.
He toured Australia from 1911-1912 as "The famous Indian Fakir".
He devised an Appearing Elephant stage illusion which he sold to Howard Thurston who had it built but never ended up performing it because of difficulties in traveling with such a large animal.
