William Harry Montgomery, a lawyer by profession, was an amateur magician specializing in ventriloquism who performed under the name "Arthur X. Abbott".
He was a member of S. A. M. and I. B. M.[1]
He was instrumental in getting the Al Baker Assembly No. 35 in Poughkeepsie, New York organized and served as its president. He later moved back to New Jersey and started the Assembly No. 60 in Atlantic City.[2]
