Jacob Zemon was a magician and restaurant owner in Baltimore, Maryland.
Biography
Zemon came to the United States as a small boy. Records indicate he was a resident of Chicago from 1885 to 1892 and was naturalized as a United States citizen in 1892.
In the 1890s he had opened a small lunch room on High Street in Baltimore, Maryland and eventually operated the Bell Lunch Room at 308 Light Street the last eight years of his life
In 1898, it was reported in Mahatma that he was playing fairs and clubs around Baltimore and preparing to go on the road.[1]
On August 2, 1903, Zemon was seriously burned, one of the four victims, in a gasoline explosion at the Bell Lunch Room. He would die a few days later leaving a widow, and four children (Rachael, 6 years old, Abraham 5, Samuel 18 months and Solomon 3 months).[2]
