Magicpedia:All Things Magic Edit-a-thon 2013
A MagicPedia/Wikipedia Edit-a-thon proposal, similar to the one just done for , that would concentrate on a range of topics around magic history.
Proposal: Hold an "edit-a-thon" in 2013 with the goal to help assimilate MagicPedia's content into Wikipedia (and vice versa). This is similar to Lee Asher's original proposal to Wikipedia's WikiProject Magic back in 2008 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Leeasher#Original_Letter_to_Project_Magic ). This one will encourage participation from all levels of expertise of Wikipedia users and magic history enthusiasts.
This was inspired from reading the Washington Post article on the DC edit-a-thon: http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-03-26/local/38036155_1_wikipedia-chuck-brown-software-developer
Overview
An edit-a-thon is an event in which people work together in person to build content on a wiki. Edit-a-thons can be very informal or very structured; they can be designed as primarily outreach events (to draw in new contributors) or to meet the needs of longtime contributors.
