Okita (1852 - 1916), born Julia Ferret, performed with her husband Charles De Vere; first as an assistant and then as a performer herself.

She was the first occidental magician on record who performed in a Japanese style act in 1877

They had a daughter Clementine De Vere, who performed as "Ionia, the Goddess of Mystery."
