Ladson Butler

Ladson Butler (November 22, 1877 - January 25, 1951)

Amateur magician and painter, he was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the Educational Manager for Yawman and Erbe in Rochester, New York.

Ladson Butler lived for many years in the city of Buffalo, where he regularly wrote a column for The Sphinx giving news of events in magic of upper New York State.

His later years, he made New York City his home. He was a past president of the S.A.M. Parent Assembly and also one of the members of the Board of Directors of The Sphinx.

First publisher of the Han Ping Chien Move in 1917 and created the "Whispering Queen" (circa 1921).
