Gen was an English periodical founded by Harry Stanley that was published over 26 years from his Unique Magic Studios, starting just after World War II.
Starting with 3 mimeographed issues while Stanley was still in the army, it ran, starting in December 1945, for 23 years.[1]
Ganson published material that would later show up in his books including Routined Manipulation, The Art of Close-Up Magic, The Dai Vernon Book of Magic, Inner Secrets of Card Magic and The Magic of Slydini.

Lewis Ganson was the editor of the "New Gen" until the magazine changed hands in 1971, where it continued under the editorship of Val Andrews for a further two issues as the New Gen.
