J. H. Bontoft (1870-1940) was, at one time, the busiest entertainer in the South of England.

Biography

Bontoft joined the Magic Circle in September 1908 and received an M.I.M.C. degree in May 1913.

During the first War (1914-18) he gave innumerable entertainments for the troops.

Bontoft was fatally injured during an Air Raid on Eastbourne on October 22nd, 1940.[1]
