Omar Yama (fl. 1910s-1920s), a printer, founded the Society of American Amateur Magicians (later renamed the Secret Association of American Magicians) in Syracuse, New York in 1917.

Biography

Yama was also the editor of their magazine, ORESTO.[1] Yama was also a member number 188 of the National Conjurers Association for which served as Associate Editor for their N.C.A. Digest as well as the printer.

The February, 1922 issue of Sphinx reported: "Among the most welcome visitors during the past month were ... Omar Yama, late of Syracuse, N.Y."
