Arthur P. Felsman (1888-1964) was editor of Felsman's Magical Review.

Biography

He began in his youth working with his younger brother Carl as "Felsman and Arthur". Later, he teamed with Hugh Johnston as "Johnston and Arthur".

Carl opened a gift shop that included magic and novelties. After his brother died in the first World War flu epidemic, Art took over the shop. He next bought out Roterberg, a long time magic manufacturer and dealer.

He had a number of stores over the years, which moved for one reason or another. He moved from the old Palmer House Hotel(when it was torn down to make room for the new hotel) to the Windsor Clifton Hotel (which also was demolished). At one point, he ran the Blackstone Magic Shop in Oak Park, Illinois, with Harry Blackstone. Their catalogs with covers by Harlan Tarbell were prized by collectors.

From there he moved to several neighborhood locations around Chicago.[1] He eventually spent time traveling, with suitcases, taking the magic shop directly to the customers until he settled down in Park Forest, a Chicago suburb and went into the manufacturing items like Multiplying Bottles, Moving Pip cards and Clippo.[2]
