B. B. Wilcox was a "Handcuff Expert and Jail Breaker". His repertoire featured escapes from U. S. Registered Mail Pouches, Paper Bags, Packing Boxes, Barrels, Straight Jackets, Insane Cots, Laundry Hampers, Milk Can full of water, and Paste Board Boxes.[1]

While living in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the Supreme Master Representative of the Brotherhood of Magicians for the State of Virginia and member number 53 of the National Conjurers Association.

The August 6, 1911 Virginian Pilot, had an article on Wilcox's collection of Handcuffs.
