Behind the Scenes With the Mediums is one of the earliest books describing the methods of fraudulent psychics. Although the techniques used by psychics today may have changed, the basic principles described are worth learning by magicians.[1]

Quotes

"Elsewhere in this number will be found the ad and a review of Mr. David P. Abbott's book Behind the Scenes with the Mediums. In calling editorial attention to this book, I want to emphasize the fact that it is absolutely the best and most valuable work ever written and published on the expose of spiritualism. I have broken over my hard and fast rule never to sell anything but The Sphinx and have undertaken the sale of this book. I do this for two reasons: first, because of my warm personal regard for Mr. Abbott, and second, because I believe the readers of The Sphinx have enough confidence in me to know that the book must be of extraordinary value or I would not handle or advertise it."A. M. Wilson in The Sphinx, vol. 6, no. 7 (September 1907), page 78
