Bobbie Jewell (?-1949), an airline pilot, was also a veteran magician, as The Great Cavu, who at the time of his death had just started a magic show with a large carnival.

Biography

Jewell was one of the organizers of I.B.M. Ring 16 in Memphis.

He began show-business performing in one of the first motordromes at a circus. Then he took to flying and had his own flying circus, barnstorming as an airplane wing walker and stunter.

Then he took a job with American Airlines where magic took over his off hours. He was widely known in Memphis as a performer, before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 1945.[1]

After retiring from American Airlines in 1949, he took out a tent show performing throughout Texas featuring drama, music and magic, called the Jewell and Harris Shows.[2]

Jewell died following a heart attack. His wife under the name Margo, worked with him in his magic shows.[3][4]
