Boris Borra (1921 - 1998) was a international pickpocket and magician.

Biography

Borra left home at age 15 to travel with the circus, soon developing a pickpocket act.

In 1939, he performed at the Yugoslavian palace where he stole the pocket watch of King Pete and was proclaimed "Borra, the King of Pickpockets and Pickpocket of Kings."

He became an Austrian citizen after World War II, and appeared with the national circus of Switzerland. In England, he became the star attraction of the Bertram Mills Circus as "The Thief of Baghdad". [1] In addition to touring with major European circuses, Borra became one of the highest paid artist of his kind at top night clubs acts. [2]

He performed his act his entire life and passed away after battling cancer for several years.[3][4]

His two brothers, Dragisa and Vojislav, also did pickpocket acts, as well as his son Charly.[5]
