Bruce Posgate (often misspelled "Postgate"), who worked full time as a sales correspondent and direct mail manager, was a part-time professional kid-show magician.

Posgate was inspired seeing a magician at a very young age and started learning magic from library books. [1]

He debuted in London in 1924 and performed as "Uncle Bruce". He moved to Canada in 1947 and was a long time "Forum" columnist for New Tops (1961-1989). He also wrote articles for the Magic Circular, Abra, and Linking Ring.

He served as IBM President from 1981 until 1982.[2]

Posgate died at the age of 89 after a two-year struggle with cancer.[3]
