Carl Lebert was an agent and professional magician born William Smith.

Biography

Lebert was noted for his Continental hat entertainment, a variation from chapeaugraphy. He is also a conjurer, juggler, shadowist and paper manipulator. Lebert first produced his hat creation in 1894 which he would perform Maskelyne and Devant's in 1905.[1]


On May 9, 1907, after not being able to get engagements to make his bills he committed suicide leaving a widow and five children unprovided for.[2]
