Cartis (1874-1952) was the stage name of Nicolas Casini who performed at circuses as a "Chinese" act with his wife and two daughters, Lydia and Yolande.


Biography

The son of a hotel owner, he ran off with the circus to become an acrobat. He began performing magic professionally at the age 18.

Before using the stage name Cartis, he also went by "Cermann" and "Cerrnano".[1][2][3][4]
