Chris Van Bern (1871 - February 7, 1950) was born Thomas Byrne in Liverpool of Irish parents.

His wife, Cora Lister (also known as Iva Voyce) was his assistant.

They billed themselves as "The Act that cannot be described" and consisted of magic, music, quick changes and his famous Wine and Water trick.

Many of his original effects were published in Will Goldston's "locked books".

Van Bern was a Gold Medalist and Life Member of the Inner Magic Circle. He was President or Vice-President of fourteen other magical societies.

Books
