Chuck Martinez was a magic dealer and owner of "Magicians' World" in San Diego, California during the 1970s and 80s.

Biography

He eventually left magic for film production work including "Nice Girls Don't Explode", which Paul Harris was the screenwriter.[1][2]

In the 1970s, Martinez worked at a San Diego Sears Roebuck as a company magician, performing at store openings and company meetings. Martinez told Sears that he wanted to open a temporary Halloween store within its San Diego store. The shop was a hit and Martinez went on to help Sears open temporary Halloween stores across the country, spending the 1980s developing the Halloween Shop at Sears. He sold the Sears enterprise in 1988 for $6 million

Martinez went on to found Disguise Inc., becoming one of the world's biggest costume makers.[3] He then became Chief Executive Officer of InCharacter Costumes.[4]
