Cussac Talma (fl. 1901-1906), an English magician, was one of the first magicians to perform the Costume Trunk illusion (as early as 1902).

Biography

He was not related to Talma of coin fame at the time.[1]

Apparently, there was a heated debate at the time between Talma and Arnold De Biere on who invented the Costume Trunk illusion. The debate was reported by "B. W." in The World's Fair (June 22, 1940), stating that the newspaper clippings at the time seemed to side with Talma as the creator.
