Dave Coleman (1890-1954) was known for his creation of Doc Hokum, Pitchman and for his giant Linking Rings.

Biography

Beginning his interest in magic in 1904, Coleman rose to become one of the stars of the magic. In early life he had been an orchestra leader.

Coleman contributed articles and effects to The Linking Ring Parades. His "Through the Pocket" effect was published in New Modern Coin Magic.

He was an honorary life member of Indianapolis Ring 10 and died at his home following a heart attack. He had been booked to present close-up effects for the IBM Convention in Louisville, Ky. that year. [1]
