De Roze from Switzerland presented an act titled "The Wonder Barman" as early as 1936 in Europe and America. His performance included Any Drink Called For by the audience, producing a pitcher of punch and changing it to fire and his version of the ink and water transposition.

His act was described in Holdens' Programmes of Famous Magicians.

In the November 1934 Linking Ring reported as description of his "Wonderful Barman" act in New York as part of the musical comedy "The Great Waltz". De Roze was described as heavy-set with a pleasant personality.
