Don Rataj is a magician, historian & vintage magician photo & autograph collector.

Don is a close up card magician that started at age 10 when he "sneaked" into the dealer room at the 1964 St. Louis Magic Convention Midwest Magic Jubilee at the St. Louis Chase Park Plaza.

He has performed close up bar magic while behind the bar during his college years at the University of Kansas & later on with his clients of his St. Louis Architectural firm Rataj Architects.

He is a collector of vintage magic photographs, autographs Magic Tokens, & he the current historian of the St. Louis IBM Ring One. Don researched the IBM Ring One past presidents of which he is also one (Past Ring One President in 1995) preparing historical data for the magic club archives as well as updating MagicPedia. He has also researched the history of the IBM Ring One Presidents & other famous St. Louis magicians. The book The Magic History of St. Louis Magic the last 85 years was published in Sept. 2011 & issued free to all Ring One members & past presidents at the Ring One 2011 President's banquet. Don's current book is "250 Magicians you should know" to be published later in 2012/13 and list many of the little known magicians from the last 150 years.
