Dr. Adam Salomon Epstein, is best known today for being shot and killed while performing the bullet-catch. Reportedly a piece of the ramrod broke off in the gun's barrel and lodged in his chest. Hardin Burlingame, however, suggests that Dr. Epstein's supposed death was a hoax he arranged as a publicity stunt.
