Duane Duvall (b.1931), who worked for a publishing firm doing layouts, performed magic on a semi-professional basis.

Biography

Duvall saw The Great Virgil in the first grade, but did not take up magic until the eighth. After high-school he met the magic shop proprietor Jean Foley and bought Greater Magic. Foley also gave Duane lessons. Duvall joined the Seattle Magic Ring and started leaning towards mentalism and hypnotism, before finally settling for straight magic, with the emphasis on manipulation.

In 1953 he moved to Portland and joined the Portland Society of Magicians, serving as Secretary and Vice- President. When the SAM Assembly No. 59 was formed, he joined, and served as Secretary, Vice President, and President. He would also serve as Regional Vice-President for North-West States.[1]
