Charles Miller in particular gave many of his favorite methods for the book, and also divulged material of Dai Vernon's to Fred Braue that was not supposed to be published, but which Braue put into the book anyway. Vernon was unhappy about this, however did contribute material to the third edition and he was also given a special credit. Many of the items in the book which are Vernon's are not specifically credited.

It's been said that Dai Vernon was a bit annoyed with how much of his material ended up in the book which is why they gave him a special section in the third edition.
