Franz Polgar (1900-1979) was a lecturer, writer, and hypnotist.
Biography
After studying commerce and economics, and obtaining a Doctorate of Psychology and Doctor of Economics from the University of Budapest in 1927, he emigrated to the United States in 1933. He later was naturalized an American citizen in 1944.
He studied the performance of Erik Jan Hanussen and developing a very similar style. Polgar billed his shows as "The Amazing Dr. Polgar in Miracles of the Mind" which consisted of mental miracles hypnotic feats, and memory stunts. He claimed to have a photographic memory, and would impressed audiences with his "memorization" of a magazine of over 96 pages. Contact mind reading was another segment of Polgar's performance, during which he would locate his fee for the performance.[1]
