Fred Haenchen (1903 - June 6, 1983) was an American magician born in Kingston, Oklahoma. He first billed himself as "The Boy Houdini" performing underwater escapes while still in school. Soon after graduating high school, he began performing in the Lyceum and Chautauqua Circuit as "Haenchen the Mystic" and the "Mysterious Haenchen."

With the help of Loring Campbell he got into the field of magic apparatus manufacturing and started the The Haenchen Magic Company. In 1977, he sold the company to the Viking Magic Company which formed a separate Viking-Haenchen Magic Co.
