Gathering for Gardner is a bi-annual event which started in 1992, when a group of friends and admirers of Martin Gardner began meeting in Atlanta Georgia to honor him and his many interests.

The Gathering is by invitation only and includes some of the greatest thinkers in the areas of magic, puzzles, illusions, mathematics, origami and game theory.

The 2012 event, known as "G4G10" (as in “Gathering for Gardner,” and 10 because it was the tenth such gathering) was organized by the late Atlanta businessman, Thomas Rodgers. G4G11 will be held in Atlanta in March, 2014.

Gardner had an aversion to traveling and large crowds. He attended only the first two Gatherings. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 95.[1]
