Gene Devoe owned and operated Devoe's Magic Den in downtown St. Louis and started many a young magician into the art. A true performer, he was always behind the counter with the latest trick. Devoe also produced and manufactured several magic tricks under the Devoe name.
Master magician and showman, he entertained widely in the Midwest. As magic dealer and leader in his profession, he as highly respected throughout the United States. He was co-founder of the Midwest Magic Jubilee and long term, active leaders in SAM assembly 8 and IBM Ring One.
He was awarded the St. Louis Magical Hertitage Award in 1995 by IBM Ring One and SAM Assembly 8.
