Dean of the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.)

Known in the whole magic world as Mr. Showbiz, George Schindler has been named Dean of the Society of American Magicians, a lifetime appointment. Past Deans include Harry Kellar (the first Dean), Frederick Eugene Powell, Al Baker, Jean Hugard, Herman Hanson, Werner Dornfield, H. Adrian Smith and most recently, Jay Marshall. George not only loves magic, he loves to entertain. He lives to bring a touch of magic and a bit of humor to the lives of others.

A seasoned entertainer specializing in corporate magic, trade shows, and sales meetings, George is a talented actor and comedian who combines drama, illusion, and humor with solid business strategies to enhance the special events of his corporate clients. However, George Schindler’s talents extend far beyond the corporate arena.

George, who loves theater and acing, starred as Shandu the Great in Woody Allen’s “New York Stories” and produced his own “World of Illusion” show. He was a consultant tp David Mamet on “Oh Hell!” and the New York Opera Company’s presentation of “The Consul”

George is always in demand for his close-up magic performances, and he and his charming wife Nina are always ready to perform their popular club-date” act. Despite a busy performing schedule, he has found time to write numerous books, including Magic With Everyday Objects, Basic Balloon Sculpture, Presto! Magic for the Beginner, and Ventriloquism--Magic With Your Voice. He also co-authored the best selling Magic With Cards with Frank Garcia. In 1973, he became co-founder of the School For Magicians. George has also lectured for magicians throughout the United States, England , Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Austria and Australia. George and Nina are internationally recognized for their expertise in magic and the performing arts and have received the prestigious Christopher Award for Lifetime Achievement in Magic.
