Harry Baker (?-1961), known as "Society's Favorite Entertainer", was a manager of the Wilson Steamship Lines and later an owner of a magic shop in Washington, D.C..

Biography

Baker entertained at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll and later in the day performed in the East Room for Roosevelt's grandchildren and the children of the diplomatic corps.

His first instructor in the field of legerdemain was Dr. Boris Zola of Saginaw, Michigan. [1]

Baker served as president of the SAM Assembly No. 32 in Washington D.C.

he passed away at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Washington, D.C. of cancer.[2] Dolly Snow continued operating the store at 1735 L St. N.W., Washington, D.C.[3]
