Isadore Bromfield

Isadore Bromfield, who served on the I.B.M. Executive Committee and official I.B.M. photographer for many years, was founder and president of the Bromfield Corp. Shipyard in East Boston.

Biography

He left school in New York City at the age of 9 and developed a competence in mechanical and electrical engineering. Later, after founding the shipyard, he invented a revolutionary worm-driven trawl winch which was adopted by New England's fishing fleet.

Bromfield joined the I.B.M. in 1949 (No. 11471) and was also a member of Ring 122 in Boston.

He often gave his time and interest to children's groups by putting on magic shows for them. He was interested in photography and took hundreds of pictures at conventions, with many of his photographs used in Genii.[1]

Bromfield died while vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale,Florida.[2]
