J. M. Rubens was an amateur magician specializing in Card Tricks and Numerology.
His interest in Magic led to investigating Psychic Phenomena and later to the founding of the "Psychic News." He investigated Haunted Houses with Will Goldston. [1]
Rubens was a member of the Magicians' Club and with the break away organization, Institute of Magicians starting in 1934. He was a vice-president of the new organization at least up until 1955.[2]
