Rev J. R. Cleland (M.A., Ps.D., Ms.D., D.D.) was an amateur magician who was a member of the Magicians' Club.[1]

Records in the Magic Circular show Cleland joining the Magic Circle in 1924 and then resigning in 1930.

By 1934, he was being referred to as "Capt. Cleland" in Goldston's Magical Quarterly.
