Jack Bauer, assisted by his wife Donna, was a professional magician in the Milwaukee area performing in many circuses.

Biography

Bauer became interested in magic at the age of 7 when Kismet the Magician, appearing at a summer resort in northern Wisconsin where Jack and his parents were vacationing, taught him a few simple tricks. Bauer later learned magic from Milwaukee magician and retired fire chief, Adam Hudzinski.

Two years later, when the Shrine circus came to town, young Bauer found that the circus clown interested him as much as magic. He struck up an acquaintance with Bozo the Clown. Before the circus left town, Bauer was in the ring, dressed identical to Bozo, doing magic tricks.

In 1954, he hired Donna on as an assistant. While both were in college, Jack and Donna earned money by performing evenings and weekends in night clubs and before various organizations. They eventually married in June, 1960.

When not on the road, Bauer would work as an industrial supply salesman for his father's company.[1][2]

Bauer moved to Wisconsin to Californian in the 1980s.

Their publicity photo can be seen at the Conjuring Arts' exhibit "The Many Faces of Magic."[3]
