Biography
Larkin became interested in magic as a teenager and went on to become a performer, teacher, booker, dealer, and convention organizer.
As a young man, he worked amateur nights in Milwaukee theaters and later did club work in full dress tuxedo and tails. At his private and public shows, he always gave away a live rabbit to a lucky youngster volunteer.
Larkin taught magic on Saturday afternoons to youngsters at the Y.M.C.A. He was magic adviser to the Nicolet Magic Company, a high school group, and ran the Midwest Magic Conclave in Milwaukee for many years. He also raised and sold doves for magicians around the country.
Larkin retired after 35 years with the Wisconsin Gas Co. and operated the Crystal Magic Shop.
He organized a local S.A.M. assembly, which was named after him.
