Jamahl Keyes, or The Magic Comic, is a magician and entertainer with over 25 years of performing experience. He is based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and raised in South Bend Indiana he was introduced to entertainment at a young age. His father Willie Keyes was a music teacher, and his mother Jackie Keyes was an elementary school teacher who found creative ways to inspire him to read. She performed magic tricks at the dinner table, and when he asked how she did them, she handed him a book and encouraged him to learn the trick himself. These fond memories of magic and performance stuck with Jamahl and would influence his career over his lifetime.

As Jamahl grew older, he continued performing and was featured in several theatrical performances and television specials. However, he never forgot his passion for connecting with his audience through magic.

After spending years perfecting his craft, he created an award-winning performance that would be adored by audiences across the country.

In 1994, he was awarded as a World Champion Magician from the Society of American Magicians. He went on to win Family Performer of the Year from the Family Artist Association in 1998 and later again from Indy Fringe in 2003. More recently, he was presented with the Stage Magician of the Year from the International Association of Black Magicians and Artists in 2018.

Starting at the very young age of 3, Jamahl Keyes was destined for his entire life to become a magical journey. His passion for stage was brought to his tiny eyes and from that point on that is where he saw himself. At 8 years old Jamahl Keyes performed his first magic show that made him the talk of the city.

In 1992, for the first time he took part in one of the most popular magic conventions in the world, Abbotts Magic Get Together (Colon Michigan). That changed the mind of Jamahl Keyes to take his performance to a level that was out of this world. As a young and vibrate performer Jamahl Keyes performed with a full stage of assistance and a dynamic show that was never done before (Jamahl Keyes and the Magic Workshop). Mentors such as legendary magician Karrol Fox, and others encouraged him in his youth and helped along the way to mold his magical talent into something amazing, something different, something NEW.

The Magic Comic was and still is in high demand as he continuously brings an undeniable stage performance that includes showmanship, charisma, but most of all an experience.

The Magic Comic Jamahl Keyes left a magical impression all over the world while entertaining. Channels such a NBC, The Family Channel, TNT and TNN have featured Jamahl Keyes on a number of television shows and found him extremely fascinating.

With plenty of life changing lectures under his belt, The Magic Comic has also oblige stages on cruise ships from Holland American cruise line, Sun Princess cruises, Celebrity Cruise Line, allowing his performance to mature into something special that landed him in numerous amounts of venues and events where he shared stages with Broadway Actor Ben Vereen, country star Reba Macentire, the late great Comedian Joan Rivers as well as the late Jon Ritter, just to name a few.

Article features in Cincinnati Enquire, MUM (2019), Linking Ring (2000), Genii magazine (2002) and Vanish (2010) was only the tip of the iceberg for The Magic Comic. His collaborations with world known organizations such as J.A.G., D. A. R. E., Meijer Corporation, D.E.C.A, and Radio One also allowed his magical talent to reach higher levels and reach different audiences all over the country. Performances at The Magic Castle (Los Angelas California) The Grand Ole Opry (Nashville TN), Show Boat Casino (Atlantic City, NJ), and Tribeca Performing Art Center (Manhattan NY) are just a few of the prestige stages he has entertained on.

Starting off with a dance troop along side on stage in the beginning of his magic career, to his now wife Tiphanny Keyes as an assistant, and currently holding the award for worlds best “Single Silent Act Magician” in the United States, Jamahl Keyes has perfected the Single Silent Act. His successful self produced productions such as “Jamahl Keyes and the Magic Factory," “The Mystic Club," “Magic in Motion," “Magic Music and Laughs” and “In The Mind of a Little Wizard” are just a few of his self productions that have hit stages all over the country in high success.
