James Douglas Soutar (c.1902-1950) toured Canada during the 1930's with a mental and mind reading act as "The Great Douglas".

Biography

Born in Barrhead, Scotland, he moved to Winnipeg, Canada around 1911 and would be in show business for over 20 years. Soutar gave up performing magic due to ill health.

He was a charter member of I. B. M. Ring 40 of Winnipeg, Ontario and a Past Territorial Representative of Manitoba for the I. B. M.

Soutar was a veteran of the first World War and a member of the Canadian Legion, having served in the Navy.[1][2][3]
